Interview with Dave Ryding

Snowsport GB: How long have you been skiing?
Dave Ryding: I started skiing on dry slope at 6 and a half and had competed in my first race by 8. My first snow race wasn't until I was 12 at the English Champs in Wengen. So 14 years!

Snowsport GB: What is your preferred discipline?
Dave Ryding: Giant Slalom.

Snowsport GB: What are your skiing aspirations?
Dave Ryding: Long term goal of skiing on the World Cup and going to the 2010 Olympic Games.

Snowsport GB: What is your nickname?
Dave Ryding: "The Rocket"

Snowsport GB: If you were not a ski racer what would you be doing?
Dave Ryding: I used to always want to be a PE teacher, but at the moment not to sure really.

Snowsport GB: What’s on your ipod?
Dave Ryding: Erm well, if you ask the other guys, they'd probably say a lot of rubbish but I'm quite a fan of scooter and listen to most types of music really, just not the slit your wrist stuff!!

Snowsport GB: Could you tell us something no one else knows about you?
Dave Ryding: Nothing can be kept a secret in Lofer, everyone knows everything about everyone!

Snowsport GB: What is your favourite food?
Dave Ryding: Chicken wraps!!!

Snowsport GB: What song is most likely to make you move on the dance floor?
Dave Ryding: Well most songs and you'll see me on that dance floor!! But if you want my real moves get some cheese played and I'll be there all night!!

Snowsport GB: What can you be heard saying most often e.g. your favorite catchphrase/motto? 
Dave Ryding: "Go big or go home"
